Friday Fun

What a fun day.  This morning I took the girls to an indoor gym at the Mount Si Community Center in North Bend which I never would have known about if not for my awesome neighbor Dana who is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Things To Do With Toddlers.  They basically set up all kinds of fun climbing stuff, ride-on toys and what-not in a gym and people bring their kids to play for a $1.00 donation.  Perfect for rainy days!  I only wish we would have got there sooner because we only had about a half and hour to play before it ended.  But the girls loved it and we will definitely go again very soon and get there earlier next time.

Later, seeing as how Kayley wasn't going to take a nap (although she did sleep in the car on the way home, a whole 10 minutes or less), I decided to put her to work helping me bake cookies!

Mmm...

Olivia finally got her cookie when she got up from her nap

Huh...interesting

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week:  A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?   I am very blessed to be a SAHM.  Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00.  Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc.  Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00.  We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.).  If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...

One of Those Really Hard Days

Today was free pastry day at Starbucks.  I wasn't going to pass that up!  When we got there and I went to put Olivia in the stroller she threw a fit and wouldn't have anything to do with it.  I hate that I can't just walk in there with them on foot but a) they'd be off in two different directions once we got inside and b) I can't hold both their hand plus my hot beverage to walk back to the car.  So, I have to use the stroller just to go into Starbucks for a latte.  One of the reasons I hardly ever go (the other being we can't afford $4.00 lattes very often).  Anyway, not wanting to cause a scene, I decided just to carry her while I pushed Kayley in the stroller.  So there I was, pushing one in a double stroller while carrying the other, and trying to get through the doors of Starbucks.  It's hard enough just pushing the double-wide stroller through the doors (I have to pull it, actually, while using my body to open one door and my free ...
