Birthday Weekend

Monday is my birthday, so I decided that today I would finally use a Spa Finder gift card, one of two Paul gave me for Christmas like 4 years ago, to get a much needed (and, frankly,) deserved massage. Ahhh, can't wait!

My friend Jerri and I are going to have coffee first and then head to the spa, and then maybe grab a cupcake after. Then tonight, we're going out with some other girlfriends for our monthly girls' night out.

Paul and I have to do a daytime outing tomorrow since that's the only time we could get a babysitter, not that we tried very hard. We are going to lunch and then making our annual trip to the movie theather (ha ha)! I think we're going to see The Dilema, since I love Vince Vaughn and I don't think Paul would be the least bit interested in Black Swan or Blue Valentine (one of which the girls and I might see tonight). It should be a fun weekend. I'm really looking foward to the spa, a night out with the girls, and seeing a movie in a theater for once.

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week: A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids? I am very blessed to be a SAHM. Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00. Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc. Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00. We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.). If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 or 4:30. After their nap

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break. I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year. I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am. We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin? A lot has happened since I last blogged. The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses. We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer. We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th. We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out. Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever. So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. First Day of 10th Grade

Today was the first day of 10th grade for the girls. Sophomores. I can't believe we only have two more of these. Not counting college, of course. Kayley Kayley again Olivia It has become my tradition to take the day before and the first day off. Back in the elementary days, the day before the first day was "meet the teacher day", so I would always take them to that, then in middle school we would just go to lunch or get our nails done. Last year was their first day of high school, though, so that day was orientation and that brings us up to this year. The day before the first day is "Wildcat Day", which is mostly a freshman and new student orientation. Olivia is in ASB so she had to go help with that, but Kayley didn't go.
