My New Project

I mentioned a few posts ago that I have decided to try and journal every single day in 2017.  Even if it's just a sentence or tow, or even just a word or phrase, but I'm going to try and write something every single day.  The main reason is just because I thought it would be fun to go back and reread at the end of the year (I'm weird that way), and also I am hoping that it might keep me motivated with things like weight loss and time management.

I was hoping to find a journal that wasn't just a bunch of blank pages but maybe had some sayings/quotes or questions to think about, etc.  I also kind of wanted to go back to a paper planner and thought what I really wanted was a combination planner/journal.  I probably could find something like that online or even in a store if I looked hard enough, but I was at Michaels and found something close enough on sale so I went with it.

First, a simple journal, with cheesy quotes:  Sorry some of these pics are sideways.



Then, an 8-week nutrition/fitness journal




Finally, a binder to put them in, with room to add additional items (budget, travel, etc).  I didn't get any type of paper planner, but I really don't need one.  I just think they're fun, but I'm fine using my phone to track appointments and what-not.



I can't wait to get started and see how this goes.

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Weigh-in Wednesday - Up and Down

So 2 weeks ago I skipped my weigh-in because of slacking off and then last week I skipped the weekly post altogether.  But I've since turned things around and am back on track. I've logged 2 good work outs so far this week.  On Monday I did C25K week 3 day 1 plus extra walking to equal 30 total minutes of cardio and then I did chest, shoulders and triceps.  Yesterday I did day 2 of C25K week 3 and legs.  Paul will be getting home later than usual for the rest of this week so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate so that I can just walk/run outside, as I won't have time to go to squeeze in the gym before dinner with him getting home later, or I could go after dinner but I don't really like to. So, after losing 7 pounds in April, I have since gained 8 (that's right-EIGHT) and lost 5.  OK, I probably didn't really gain 8.  That's what the scale said last Thursday but the very next day I was down 2.6 or 2.8 or something, so wh...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January.
