Show Us Your Life - Master Bedroom

Kelly's Korner is hosting home tours every Friday.  This week is Master Bedrooms.  Our Master was one of the first rooms we painted when we we first moved in 2 1/2 years ago (the other being the girls' room, and we just finally got around to painting the living and dining rooms).  I love the red wall, but the other walls were supposed to be a dark beige (Eddie Bauer Oatmeal) but ended up having an olive-y green tint that I wasn't expecting.  It must just be the lighting in there because we used the same color in the living/dining rooms and there's no green tint at all.

Curtains are on the "to-do" list!  I have some (dark red), and a nice Pottery Barn rod, we just need to get around to hanging them!

TV armoire and door to Master Bath

I love the furniture.  It's from Dania and was our first major purchase together, a few months before our wedding.  I bought the bedding a year or two before we met, so it's been around 6 or 7 years and I'm starting to get a bit tired of it, but now that our wall is red I think it will be hard to find something new that will go with that wall!  I don't think Paul is going to want to re-paint anytime soon so we might be stuck with it for awhile.

This is where Kayley has napped for the last almost 2 years, so as not to wake Olivia or vice versa.  Now that neither of the girls nap any longer (and even if they did, at 2 1/2 she's obviously getting too big for the Pack and Play anyway and I'd have to come up with something else), I'd like to use this space for a little sitting/reading area with an armchair and lamp (in which case the cedar chest would be moved).

Beautiful space. I had the exact bedding for the longest time - it's gorgeous!!! We just recently redecorated, but I loved, loved that gorgeous bedding. Enjoy your space.

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Looking in from the kitchen.  Need curtains! Looking in from the living room.  Notice the plastic protector underneath, for when the kids throw their sp...

Weigh-in Wednesday - Up and Down

So 2 weeks ago I skipped my weigh-in because of slacking off and then last week I skipped the weekly post altogether.  But I've since turned things around and am back on track. I've logged 2 good work outs so far this week.  On Monday I did C25K week 3 day 1 plus extra walking to equal 30 total minutes of cardio and then I did chest, shoulders and triceps.  Yesterday I did day 2 of C25K week 3 and legs.  Paul will be getting home later than usual for the rest of this week so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate so that I can just walk/run outside, as I won't have time to go to squeeze in the gym before dinner with him getting home later, or I could go after dinner but I don't really like to. So, after losing 7 pounds in April, I have since gained 8 (that's right-EIGHT) and lost 5.  OK, I probably didn't really gain 8.  That's what the scale said last Thursday but the very next day I was down 2.6 or 2.8 or something, so wh...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...
