Free Weekend

After listening to me whine about never having time to tackle a growing list of projects, hubby has generously offered to take the girls to his parents' this weekend, giving me the entire weekend to myself!  Well, almost the entire weekend.  They'll get back around 2:00 PM on Sunday and then we have a dinner with a few couples from our sunday school class at church.  But I'll have pretty much the whole weekend and I'm SO excited.  I have a huge list of things I want to get done or at least work on and I just know I will barely make a dent in it, but it will still be so nice to work on as much of it as I can.
So, I made a list of everything I would like to do (I know I won't get to it all) whether it's a project or just something fun and/or relaxing.
  • Purge/organize bathroom cabinets/drawers/linen closet
  • Purge/organize dresser (already did this!)
  • Order prints
  • Organize photos/put in albums
  • Scrapbook
  • Read
  • Clean/organize kitchen cupboards
  • Clean/organize fridge
  • Catch up on Say Yes to the Dress
  • Watch at least one movie
  • Purge/organize girls' closet and dresser - transition from spring/summer to fall/winter wardrobe
  • Start tagging items for the upcoming consignment sale
  • Get some things ready to sell on Ebay
  • Gather/organize things for upcoming garage sale
  • Download new music/make some new playlists
  • Shop!
And speaking of shopping, I have a whole list of stores I want to hit while I'm child-free.  The only problem is, if I spend too much time shopping it will significantly cut into project time so I'll have to really prioritize and try to find a good balance.

Anyway, they just left and I'm heading out shortly to go redeem Living Social vouchers at Ben Franklin (a craft store) and Whole Foods, then I'm going to spend the rest of the evening watching Say Yes to the Dress and reading my book and a magazine and hopefully start on one of the many above mentioned projects.  Ahhh...this is going to be a great weekend.

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week:  A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?   I am very blessed to be a SAHM.  Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00.  Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc.  Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00.  We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.).  If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 or 4:30. After their nap

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and we all took a day trip to Leavenworth. On Fe

First Day of 10th Grade

Today was the first day of 10th grade for the girls.  Sophomores.  I can't believe we only have two more of these.  Not counting college, of course. Kayley Kayley again Olivia It has become my tradition to take the day before and the first day off.  Back in the elementary days, the day before the first day was "meet the teacher day", so I would always take them to that, then in middle school we would just go to lunch or get our nails done.  Last year was their first day of high school, though, so that day was orientation and that brings us up to this year.  The day before the first day is "Wildcat Day", which is mostly a freshman and new student orientation.  Olivia is in ASB so she had to go help with that, but Kayley didn't go.  Instead, her and I took some of her old clothes to this resale store called Plato's Closet to try and sell them (it's similar to a consignment shop except they just pay you then and there and then resell them, instead of o
