Hair

I rarely even attempt to do anything to the girls' hair because nothing (clips, ponytails, headbands, etc.) ever stays in for more than about 2 minutes.  I'm always seeing other girls their age or younger with cute clips, ponytails, etc. that stay put just fine, but when I try anything it never works.  I think I might be able to do pony/pigtails now if I use those tiny rubber bands without any fabric (I have some that have like a terrycloth type fabric covering) so today I decided to give it another try but I couldn't find any of the non-fabric ones.  We'll see how it goes.

Olivia wanted a braid (doesn't really show in the picture) but I know it's not going to hold with just a fabric-covered pony holder.

I'm going to keep experimenting and see if I can have better luck.

Comments

I've been braiding our girls' hair for the past few months. My husband keeps wanting me to get the girls' hair cut shorter, but it's easier to braid when it's longer (middle of their backs), and it stays up better than anything else I've ever been able to do.

I'm always a little envious when I see pictures of kiddos with gorgeous bows / hairstyles. I feel like I do well to brush the girls' hair a few times a day! HA!

Transfer Anniversary

Today is the 5-year anniversary of my embryo transfer!  5 years ago today I became pregnant with my girls (I wrote about it in more detail a few years ago).  It was a Saturday that year, also. Olivia and Kayley at 3 days post conception (wish I knew which one was which): And Olivia and Kayley 5 years later: That photo is actually a few weeks old.  I tried to take one for today and this is what I ended up with: {Sigh}

First Snow of 2025

Yesterday it snowed for the first time this year.  I love when it snows when I don't have to go anywhere and can just stay home and admire it.  It snowed more today, and we took Kona out for a walk in the woods.  So pretty.

Senior Prom

Last Friday was the girls' Senior Prom.  A whole group of them met at a nearby park for photos, then they broke off into smaller groups and went to dinner and Prom.  Olivia and her group rented an Air B&B for the night, and Kayley spent the night at a friend's house with another friend or two. Olivia and Gavin (just friends) Everyone Just the guys Just the girls Olivia and Kayley
