What's Up Wednesday

Time for another round of What's Up Wednesday, hosted by Shay, Mel and Sheaffer.

What we're eating -
I'm currently on another merry-go-round of some days really healthy some days not so healthy.  I'm chaperoning the girls' Girl Scout troop's trip to Great Wolf Lodge this weekend so I'll do my best to bring some healthy snacks along but I hoping to really get back on track come Monday.

What I’m reminiscing about – This week Ken Griffey, Jr. was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame, so I’ve been reminiscing about the Mariner’s magical ’95 season.  There's an iconic photo but I don't want to post it for copyright reasons so just Google!

What I’m loving – that this summer hasn’t been as hot as the last several.  We don’t have A/C and the last several summers have been brutal (although we did finally get a window unit for our bedroom last summer so that helped).

What I’m dreading – chaotic school mornings starting in 35 days.

What I’m working on – A new look and title for this here blog.  I've been reading a little about how to create a blog header but I just haven't had the time.

What I’m excited about – We just booked our cruise for next July with a bunch of friends (and the girls).  It’s going to be awesome.

What I’m watching/reading – The Bachelorette of course, and I'm currently reading Whole30 and Where’d You Go, Bernadette?

What I’m listening to – I’m digging Justin Timberlake’s new song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”.  And having recently read Valerie Bertineli's book, Losing It: And Gaining my Life Back One Pound at a Time and having just gone to Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas, I've been really nostalgic for Van Halen (both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar versions).

What I'm doing this weekend - Chaperoning the girls' Girl Scout troop's trip to Great Wolf Lodge.

What I'm looking forward to next month - The start of the school year.  Even though I'm dreading the chaotic mornings, I'm still excited because the girls will be attending the brand new school in our neighborhood which is way closer and it will just be nice to get back into our normal routine and I also love not having to stress about childcare.

Transfer Anniversary

Today is the 5-year anniversary of my embryo transfer!  5 years ago today I became pregnant with my girls (I wrote about it in more detail a few years ago).  It was a Saturday that year, also. Olivia and Kayley at 3 days post conception (wish I knew which one was which): And Olivia and Kayley 5 years later: That photo is actually a few weeks old.  I tried to take one for today and this is what I ended up with: {Sigh}

First Snow of 2025

Yesterday it snowed for the first time this year.  I love when it snows when I don't have to go anywhere and can just stay home and admire it.  It snowed more today, and we took Kona out for a walk in the woods.  So pretty.

Senior Prom

Last Friday was the girls' Senior Prom.  A whole group of them met at a nearby park for photos, then they broke off into smaller groups and went to dinner and Prom.  Olivia and her group rented an Air B&B for the night, and Kayley spent the night at a friend's house with another friend or two. Olivia and Gavin (just friends) Everyone Just the guys Just the girls Olivia and Kayley
