Easter 2013

What a busy day.  The girls got up at 6:30, which is early for them.  They were all excited about their Easter baskets.

They got Hello Kitty stickers, a Barbie DVD, a Winx Club doll (Kayley) and a Winx Club accessories pack (Olivia), a tee shirt, Lego Friends (wouldn't fit so I stuck them underneath the baskets which worked out fine once I wrapped them in celophane) and miscellaneous candy.

I made waffles for breakfast, then it was off to church.  After church we headed up to my brother and sister-in-law's for Easter dinner but had to stop at a store first because I had forgotten the candied walnuts for my salad and we needed sunscreen for the girls.  I wasn't able to find candied walnuts so we had to do without.

After fighting some heavy traffic we finally made it to my brother's, had dinner and then the girls and their 2nd cousins had an egg hunt.

The girls with 2nd cousin, Taylor.  We forgot their baskets so they had to use shopping bags to put their eggs in.

After dessert we headed over to Ashley Gardens, the care facility where my mom is, to visit her briefly, and had to stop for gas on the way as well as dinner for the girls because they barely ate any lunch and were starving.  After a brief visit with mom, we headed home, fought more traffic and had to make a potty stop along the way for Olivia (usually they are always for me).

When we got home, the girls played with their new legos for awhile while we unloaded the car and then I gave Olivia a bath (Kayley will take one in the morning) and put them to bed.  Long day.

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Looking in from the kitchen.  Need curtains! Looking in from the living room.  Notice the plastic protector underneath, for when the kids throw their sp...

Weigh-in Wednesday - Up and Down

So 2 weeks ago I skipped my weigh-in because of slacking off and then last week I skipped the weekly post altogether.  But I've since turned things around and am back on track. I've logged 2 good work outs so far this week.  On Monday I did C25K week 3 day 1 plus extra walking to equal 30 total minutes of cardio and then I did chest, shoulders and triceps.  Yesterday I did day 2 of C25K week 3 and legs.  Paul will be getting home later than usual for the rest of this week so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate so that I can just walk/run outside, as I won't have time to go to squeeze in the gym before dinner with him getting home later, or I could go after dinner but I don't really like to. So, after losing 7 pounds in April, I have since gained 8 (that's right-EIGHT) and lost 5.  OK, I probably didn't really gain 8.  That's what the scale said last Thursday but the very next day I was down 2.6 or 2.8 or something, so wh...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...
