Friday (the 13th!) was our 16th Anniversary. We took the day off and headed for the ocean, to a town called Ocean Shores. I hadn't been there since 1986 when I was a junior in high school and we went there on band tour (the only time I had been there until now). On our way stopped at a nearby oceanfront town called Seabrook. It's a cute little town with all these Cape Cod-style vacation homes and just a few cute shops, restaurants and bars. We walked around for a bit, got an ice cream cone and then headed down to Ocean Shores. Once settled in our room we went to the pool and hot tub, then out to dinner at Bennett's Fish Shack where we enjoyed awesome fish and chips. On Saturday we had breakfast in our room and then went for a walk on the beach. The weather on the Washington coast this time of year is notoriously cold and wet, but we lucked out with a few sun breaks and not too much rain or wind.
