We arrived on Saturday afternoon around 3:30 or 4:00, got settled in our room and then went out exploring. We walked around and checked out the shops and then stopped for Happy Hour at a restaurant. We then had some time to kill before our dinner reservation at another restaurant so we went back to our hotel and sat out on their deck for a bit and then walked around some more.
We went to dinner at a place with live music. We were seated next to a fireplace with a good view of the band (jazz), but unfortunately the food was just ok. Except the clam chowder was really good and the desserts, but the entrées were just so-so.
After dinner we went to a cute little bar right next door to our hotel and had a drink, then we called it a night.
The next morning we took a walk on a trail that started right outside our hotel and went to a pier with a long boardwalk. Luckily it was a beautiful day. After our walk we browsed a book store and then went out for brunch at a crepe place. I've only ever had sweet crepes, like filled with berries and whip cream on top, but Paul and I got some delicious savory crepes with some sort of cheese and ham and asparagus and I don't remember what all but they were SO GOOD! We both were just raving about them.
After brunch it was time to head home but we took the long scenic route called Chuckanut Drive and stopped at a State Park on the way. It was a fantastic little getaway.
