Kauai Vacation Days One and Two

I'm already not keeping up with the "blog most days" goal as the blogging app on my phone was not cooperating.

We arrived on Kauai on New Year's Day (had to be at the airport by 5:30 AM so was in bed by 10 PM on New Year's Eve but woke up to fireworks at midnight). We got settled in and took a walk on the beach and had dinner at Lava Lava Beach Club.

The next day we did oceanfront yoga, then went to breakfast at Kountry Kitchen, where I had caramelized pineapple french toast with homemade coconut syrup. Delicious!

Then we took a drive to the North end of the island, stopping at various viewpoints and beaches along the way.

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead. It's basically all one big room. I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002. It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture. The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah. A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break. I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year. I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am. We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin? A lot has happened since I last blogged. The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses. We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer. We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th. We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out. Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever. So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week: A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids? I am very blessed to be a SAHM. Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00. Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc. Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00. We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.). If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...
