Senior Stuff

This weekend was full of senior activities for the girls.  Saturday evening was the annual Senior Car Parade.  This is a fun tradition that started during Covid. Since there was no graduation ceremony, this was a safe alternative and then it just stuck. It ended up being a beautiful night for it which was so nice.

Olivia and two of her friends rode together in one of the friend's dad's pickup, and Kayley rode with 3 of her friends in someone's Jeep.  We actually somehow missed Kayley when she went by, but luckily I was able to steel this photo from the school district's IG.

Then, today was Senior Sunday at our church, so they did a slide show of all the seniors and then they went up on stage and received a gift and were prayed over.  I remember having something similar when I graduated way back when.







11 days until graduation!

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any).
