Weekly Weight Loss Post

I'm going to start posting every Friday or Saturday again about my weight loss efforts and progress (or lack thereof).  I've had a terrible time so far this year getting anything going, losing 2, 3, 4 pounds and instantly regaining them, over and over and over.  But I made a fresh start on Monday the 28th and I have had a great week so far.  I weighed on Monday, re-weighed on Tuesday and was down 1.2 pounds already (probably just water).  Then I weighed again yesterday and was down another 1.2.  With just under 10 weeks until we leave for Hawaii, I'm hoping to lose 10.2 more pounds.

I've decided to restart C25K.  Not from the very beginning, but from week 5.  So on Monday I did week 5 day 1, plus I did the 30 Day Shred.  Wednesday I did week 5 day 2, Thursday I did the Shred and today I did the Shred plus C25K week 5 day 3.  If I stay on schedule this time, I will finally finish the darn thing on April 1.

Today will be challenging, as far as diet goes.  We're going to my great-nephew's birthday party up in Mount Vernon, then we have some time to kill before going to a gathering at a friend's place in Monroe (between here and MV but too far to come home first) so we might take the girls to Chuck E Cheese, since MV happens to have one and they've never been, as the closest one to us is about 45 minutes away.  So between the birthday party and the evening with friends, which will undoubtedly include lots of food and wine, it's going to be difficult to stay on track, but I'm pretty motivated right now since it's only day 6 so I think I'll do ok.  I will enjoy a small piece of cake with no ice cream, I'm bringing healthy snacks to tide me over in-between, and I will limit myself to one glass of wine and otherwise be conscious of portions and not snack too much on chips and/or whatever other snacks/hor d'oeuvres are offered at either event.

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week:  A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?   I am very blessed to be a SAHM.  Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00.  Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc.  Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00.  We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.).  If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Looking in from the kitchen.  Need curtains! Looking in from the living room.  Notice the plastic protector underneath, for when the kids throw their sp...
