Weight Watchers Monday

As you know, I started WW back in July.  That was a 17-week session that ended on November 2nd, and then I renewed for another session that I am now a month (almost) into. I've been terrible about updating (obviously I am bad about blogging in general), but I have decided to commit to giving a WW update every Monday for at least the month of December, hopefully longer.

So, at one point, back in like early October I think, I was down 9 pounds at home, 7.2 at WW.  Since then, however, what with Halloween and Thanksgiving and all, I have regained some and as of today I am only down 2.6 at home and 2.4 at WW (weird, usually the difference between my weight at home and at WW is about 2 pounds, give or take.  Whatever).  Pretty pathetic for almost 5 months.

But today is one of those days where I'm all motivated and recommitted (but like always I will probably lose 2-3 pounds by Friday only to gain most or all of it back by Monday.  Sigh).  I've decided to start my New Year's Resolution today instead of waiting until January.  I'm going to forget I ever participated in the first WW session and pretend like I'm just starting today.  Day 1.  Clean slate, fresh start.

I'm also going to start setting monthly goals (not just related to weight loss) and blog about those.  At least I'm saying right now that I'm going to but I probably won't.  But I will for December, anyway:
  • Diligently track my points for the next two weeks.
  • Blog almost every day (not just about WW but I thought it'd be fun to blog everyday or almost everyday in December just about what we did Christmas-related or whatever and be able to look back sometime in the future and have a little snapshot of a month of our lives leading up to Christmas.  Again, probably won't happen).
  • Make time for exercise.  Yesterday I just decided that I'm just going to do it and not worry about homework and meal prep and all of that.  I really need to squeeze it in so no more excuses.  So this morning I packed a gym bag and went straight to the Y after work.  Tomorrow I will just do my 7-minute workout app plus try to walk a lot/go up and down the stairs at work and Wednesday it's back to the Y while the girls are at Girl Scouts.  I've really been wanting to get back into running a little bit but before I commit to starting Couch to 5K again I need to just get back in the routine of exercising somewhat regularly.
  • Read a book.  That's right, a WHOLE book (scoff).  That would seem really lame to many people but I just don't read that much anymore.  I finally just finished Gone Girl after starting it this summer sometime.  I hope to step it up a bit.

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week:  A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?   I am very blessed to be a SAHM.  Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00.  Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc.  Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00.  We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.).  If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Looking in from the kitchen.  Need curtains! Looking in from the living room.  Notice the plastic protector underneath, for when the kids throw their sp...
