Right on Schedule

I'm 3 or so weeks into this weight loss effort and just like always, have totally fallen off the wagon this week.  It started with me re-weighing on Saturday and being up just a tiny bit (like 0.2 or something).  Then I was really good all weekend and kept weighing every day because I wanted to see that number return to what it had been on Friday, but it never did.  So by Tuesday I got really discouraged and have been bad ever since.  Also, I kept having other things to do in the evenings instead of making it to the gym.  Like, Thursday night I had to go buy a new coffee pot because mine stopped working, and obviously I needed one for Friday morning,  So anyway, it's been a bad week on the diet/exercise front and I'm up 2 1/2 pounds.  Grrr.

Anyway, I'll try to recover after this weekend.  Last night I had dinner and drinks with friends and today we went to a wedding (cake!), so hopefully tomorrow I can turn things around.  Next weekend we're going to Crescent Bar with some friends so that will surely undo any minimal progress I make during the week.  So basically I'll be hoping to start fresh on the 14th (we're going to the fair on the Monday the 13th, weather permitting).  Sigh...

As for last week's workouts, there were only two:  a 45-minute walk/jog on Sunday and the 30 Day Shred on Monday.  Lame, totally lame.

Stick at it. Even if this time you are following the old patterns, you do have the power to make it different too. Don't let a Week 3 dip be the end of you. You can do this!

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week:  A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?   I am very blessed to be a SAHM.  Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00.  Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc.  Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00.  We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.).  If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Looking in from the kitchen.  Need curtains! Looking in from the living room.  Notice the plastic protector underneath, for when the kids throw their sp...
