January

The girls and I had been spending entirely too much time couped up at home lately.  First we all had colds right around Christmas time, then we got a bunch of snow that hung around for several days, then we've just had a bunch of cold, rainy days, etc.  We finally started getting out more a few weeks ago with playdates to the Indoor Playground (a godsend this time of year!) and KidzBounce, the latter of which was way more fun this time because it was much less crowded and the girls we're much more brave about exploring all the different bouncy houses whereas last time they would only do one slide and wanted me to go with them all the time.  We also had a fun playdate last Friday at a coffee/doughnut shop near our house that I'd been wanting to try that has a nice play area for kids.  One of those things that if I'd of known about it sooner I totally would have gone there a long time ago.  It's always great to find new things to do with the girls.

Anyway, one day last week was actually sunny and we donned sunglasses and went to the park!  It was, quite literally, a breath of fresh air!

I never minded winter before...until this year! At two, our girls are old enough to need to get out and about. I have learned that three or four days in the house is close to the max for them to not be climbing the curtains. :) If nothing else, we'd been going to the mall to walk in the mornings before the stores opened. But we've been dealing with some sickness - A had the flu last week, and B seems to have a stomach bug now...YUCK! If it's not the weather, that definitely limits getting out and about!

It's great you got to enjoy some actual sunshine, and found a couple of indoor places to play!

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week:  A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?   I am very blessed to be a SAHM.  Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00.  Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc.  Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00.  We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.).  If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break.  I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year.  I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am.  We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin?  A lot has happened since I last blogged.  The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses.  We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th.  We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out.  Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever.  So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. For President's Day weekend we went to Crescent Bar and from there Paul and Kayley went skiing at Mission Ridge and...

Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead.  It's basically all one big room.     I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002.  It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture.  The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.  And like most other rooms in the house, we have yet to hang curtains (not that we're going to hang them in every room, but we have yet to hang any). Looking in from the kitchen.  Need curtains! Looking in from the living room.  Notice the plastic protector underneath, for when the kids throw their sp...
