Pumpkin Patch 2012

So we still don't have hot water, and since Paul's parents stopped by here on Friday on their way home from Crescent Bar they offered to take the girls to their place and we could have a date night and then go to their place on Saturday and spend the night. So they took the girls home, gave them a bath and we went to the gym for a short workout and a SHOWER, then went to the local wine bar for a little date. Instead of wine, though, we each had different martinis and they were so good.

Saturday morning we went out for breakfast and then to the in-laws. It was yet another gorgeous fall day and we had been planning on going to a local pumpkin patch with our church group, so we went to one down there instead and it was really fun. It's a cider mill that has expanded to include a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, hay ride, etc. They also make the best apple fritters in the world. Delish.

Tomorrow during preschool, instead of something fun, I get to come straight home and try and track down the part for our water heater that was SUPPOSED to be here Friday. Sigh. Tomorrow will be day 11 with no hot water. It really sucks. I almost wish it wasn't under warranty, then we could have just bought a new one from Home Depot and been done with it.

I am so sorry to hear you STILL don't have hot water!!! But I'm glad you got a little date night in the middle of your troubles. And love the pumpkin patch pictures! We made a quick trip a few weeks ago, but I hope to go back in the next week or so...we still need to buy pumpkins!

Hope you get the water heater straightened out soon!!!

A Day in My Life

It's time once again for the Multiples and More Question of the Week: A Day in Your Life. What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids? I am very blessed to be a SAHM. Our schedule looks something like this: The girls get up anywhere between 7:20 and 8:20, but usually around 8:00. Lately I've been letting them watch an episode of Dora so I can get on the computer and check email, Facebook, etc. Otherwise they just play for an hour or so and then we have breakfast. By the time we're done with breakfast (fixing, eating and cleaning up) it's usually between 9:30 and 10:00. We get dressed, and then we go wherever we're going that day (errands, park, playdate, etc.). If it's a stay home day, I'll usually do a DVD workout while they just play upstairs and then we'll go for a walk or play outside after. Lunch is anywhere between 12:00 and 1:00, and nap is 1:30 or 2:00 to 4:00 ...

A Very Belated 2023 Recap

I guess I took a bit of a blogging break. I only blogged three times last year and this will be my first post so far this year. I just haven’t been in the mood but now suddenly I am. We’ll see how long it lasts. Where to even begin? A lot has happened since I last blogged. The girls are about to turn 16, have jobs and are on the verge of getting their driver’s licenses. We took an amazing trip to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas last summer. We celebrated our 17th anniversary and are closing in on our 18th. We attended some great concerts, did some fun hikes and have had lots of fun date nights, game nights and girl’s/guy’s nights out. Ok, I guess that’s not all that much but whatever. So, I guess to start off my 2024 blogging, I will recap 2023: I turned 54 in January. Show Us Your Life - Dining Rooms

It's time for this week's Show Us Your Life, brought to you by Kelly's Korner , and this week it's dining rooms. We have a very open floorplan, so when you walk in our front door the dining room is to the right and the living room to the left, with the fireplace straight ahead. It's basically all one big room. I bought the table and sideboard at Dania when I bought my first condo back in 2002. It looked great in that condo, but for this house I wish I had black dining room furniture. The table and sideboard are the same color as the trim, and then with the white walls (although we finally got one wall painted) it's just so blah.
